I am not really sure how to title this…but I read this article and about how 2 women used a loop hole to get married in Costa Rica, where it is not legal for a same-sex couple to marry.

In essence Costa Rica doesn’t have equal marriage.

Basically, one of the parties was listed as male, by mistake, on their birth certificate. The other party was identified as female on their birth certificate.

When all is said and done, even though they got a license and were married, they essentially committed fraud.

“We believe that these people were aware that a marriage between people of the same sex warrants a complaint, that parts of the Criminal Code might have been broken,” Bolanos said in calling for criminal charges, according to AFP.

Are they really making a point or any strides towards progress.

I am inclined to think their efforts will fall very short of their intentions and may all be for naught.
